The objectification and exploitation of women, particularly those from Asian backgrounds, are not new phenomena. Research has shown that the media and online content can perpetuate negative stereotypes and contribute to the marginalization of already vulnerable groups ( hooks, 1992; Sarita Echavez See, 2009). The proliferation of online content has also raised concerns about the ease of access to exploitative and degrading material (Tankard Reist, 2011).
The existence and popularity of such content demonstrate a pressing need for action and accountability. Governments, tech companies, and individuals must work together to prevent the spread of exploitative material and to protect the rights and dignity of victims.
