PlayStation 3 (PS3) exclusive

God of War: Ascension was never officially released for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) and therefore cannot be played natively on the PPSSPP emulator. It is a title.

PPSSPP cannot run God of War: Ascension

Consequently, because the emulator is designed for PSP titles, not PS3 titles. If you see a file labeled "God of War Ascension PPSSPP ISO" or "Highly Compressed CSO," it is almost certainly a fake, a virus, or a mislabeled file containing a different game.

If you want to play God of War on PPSSPP, there are two official titles that were made for the PSP and run perfectly on the emulator:

(2008) : A prequel set 10 years before the original game, following Kratos as he serves the gods of Olympus. God of War: Ghost of Sparta (2010)

  1. Download the clean ISO of Ghost of Sparta from a trusted source.
  2. Open PPSSPP on your PC.
  3. Go to Tools -> Developer Tools -> Compress ISO to CSO.
  4. Select compression level 9 (Best compression).
  5. The output .CSO file will be significantly smaller.

If you own a physical copy of the game, you are legally allowed to create a "backup" ISO. If you are looking for compressed versions online to save data, you must be cautious about the source.

Epic Boss Battles:

Scale massive creatures and engage in cinematic Quick Time Events (QTEs).
