Fl Installation Manual [patched] - Gunnebo Speedstile
Gunnebo SpeedStile FL — Deep Overview and Installation Narrative
- Floor Flatness Tolerance: The SpeedStile FL requires a floor flatness of ±2 mm over 1 meter. Any variation requires self-leveling compound.
- Underground Clearance: Confirm no electrical conduits, HVAC ducts, or water pipes exist where you plan to drill anchor holes (depth: 80 mm minimum).
- Networking Infrastructure: Pre-run CAT6 shielded cable (minimum) to the designated floor box location. The LAN connection is required for remote diagnostics and firmware updates.
Pro tip:
⚠️ If the glass wing has a smudge, it’s not yours. Wear gloves.
- Configure barrier behavior on power loss: fail-open (barriers retract) or fail-closed (barriers lock). Confirm this setting matches site security policy and fire code.
3.1 Setting Operational Modes
- Presence and intrusion sensors are the unsung guardians. Calibrate optical or IR beams so they detect real human shapes without false positives from swinging bags or children. Sensor fields should be tested in different clothing and lighting conditions.
- Safety edges and emergency behaviours must be validated: pushing the emergency-stop should halt motion and report a fault; fire alarm interface should cause predefined behavior (e.g., free passage or lockdown). Document the code compliance relevant to your jurisdiction (fire, accessibility, electrical).
- Accessibility: Ensure at least one lane meets accessibility standards (wider lane, slower operating speed, tactile signage), and that installation leaves adequate approach clearance.
