Inframundo 4- El Despertar ((full)) Review
creative pitch for a reboot or a direct sequel
Since this title does not exist as an official sequel in the Underworld franchise (the current films are Underworld , Evolution , Rise of the Lycans , Awakening , and Blood Wars ), I have treated this as a that ignores the events of Blood Wars to correct the course of the saga.

Inframundo 4- El Despertar
The film begins with "The Purge," a global initiative where humans discover the existence of both immortal species and move to exterminate them. This narrative choice effectively raises the stakes; Selene is no longer just a soldier in a factional feud but a survivor of a near-extinction event. By placing Selene in a cryogenic sleep and waking her fifteen years later, the film utilizes a "fish out of water" trope to explore how the world has changed. The gothic, shadowed atmosphere of the earlier films is replaced by a cold, clinical, and corporate aesthetic, reflecting the dominance of human technology and science.
