- Frequency counter (to 30 MHz)
- 50Ω dummy load, 150W min
- RF wattmeter (Bird 43 or equivalent)
- Small-tip soldering iron (for SMD diodes)
- Press FUNC then VFO/M.CH to enter VFO mode.
- Press FUNC then A/B to select VFO A or B.
- Press FUNC then STEP. Turn the main dial until "OFF" appears (or the finest step, 10 Hz).
- Now, to kill the "channel snap," press FUNC + SCAN to enter the menu.
- Rotate the dial until you see "CH. STEP".
- Change this from "CH" (Channel step) to "FREQ" (Frequency step).
- Exit the menu.
