  1. Press FUNC then VFO/M.CH to enter VFO mode.
  2. Press FUNC then A/B to select VFO A or B.
  3. Press FUNC then STEP. Turn the main dial until "OFF" appears (or the finest step, 10 Hz).
  4. Now, to kill the "channel snap," press FUNC + SCAN to enter the menu.
  5. Rotate the dial until you see "CH. STEP".
  6. Change this from "CH" (Channel step) to "FREQ" (Frequency step).
  7. Exit the menu.
