The Enduring Legacy of Korg and the SF-2: A Synthesizer Revolution
If you just want to play an SF2 file on a Korg keyboard (not sample it into the Korg), consider a host device:
- Copy the converted
.KSF (samples) and .KMP (multisample maps) to a FAT32-formatted USB drive.
- Insert into Korg → Disk Mode → Load.
- Choose "Load as New Program."
- KORG’s own expansions (e.g., KORG EXs libraries – excellent quality, no conversion hassle).
- NKI (Kontakt) to KORG – Often better documented than SF2.
- Use a laptop with a free SF2 player (like FluidSynth VST) and route audio into KORG’s audio inputs. This keeps your KORG as the controller/keys, but sound comes from the computer.
