The original Rathnamali Gatha is written in Sinhala script (though some versions use Romanized Pali). Low-quality PDFs often result from scanning old, yellowed paper books. In these scans, the vowel strokes ( pillam ) break apart. A single misplaced diacritic can change the entire meaning of a Pali word, rendering the chant incorrect.
