• Cause: The client PC cannot see the server over the network.
• Fix: Ping the server by hostname. If that fails, replace the hostname in SLB_LICENSE_FILE with the server’s IP address. Also, verify Windows Defender Firewall isn't blocking port 27000.

1. Extract the downloaded ZIP to C:\SLB\LicenseManager\.
2. Copy your .lic file to the same folder.
3. Run lmtools.exe as Administrator.
4. Click the "Config Services" tab.
5. Name the service: SLB_FLEXNet_Service.
6. Path to lmgrd.exe: C:\SLB\LicenseManager\lmgrd.exe
7. Path to License File: C:\SLB\LicenseManager\your_license.lic
8. Path to Debug Log: C:\SLB\LicenseManager\debug.log
9. Check "Start Server at Power Up" and "Use Services."
10. Click "Save Service."
11. Go to the "Start/Stop/Reread" tab and click "Start Server."
12. Verify with lmstat -a to see available features.
