A file (often called setup.exe or installer.msi ) is the master planner. It doesn’t run the game itself; instead, it unpacks compressed data, creates folders, writes registry entries, and places the actual GameEXE onto your hard drive. Without a proper setup, your game is just a pile of useless code.
