- For casual, single-admin notes on a single Server 2019 box, Sticky Notes is acceptable—use local notes and ensure you back up the admin profile regularly.
- For any production or multi-user server, avoid relying on Sticky Notes. Choose per-machine or server-grade tools (shared documents, enterprise note systems, or simple text files in a backed-up network share).
- If you must use Sticky Notes across servers or sessions, test thoroughly: sign-in behavior, RDP reconnects, backup/restore of profile data, and any group policies that might block store or Microsoft account access.
- Document note storage locations and include them in your profile backup/restore procedures to avoid accidental data loss.
- If enterprise deployment is required, consider alternatives that provide MSI installers, centralized management, and clear support for multi-user server environments.
- No official Microsoft Store version for Server 2019, so you rely on third-party tools.
- Some apps require .NET or VC++ runtimes – but once installed, it’s smooth.
- No built-in cloud sync, but that’s fine for an isolated server environment.
Windows Server 2019 does not include Microsoft Sticky Notes by default because it is a Universal Windows Platform (UWP) app designed for consumer versions of Windows

third-party portable sticky notes
