The Intel UHD 770 graphics chip, found in 12th, 13th, and 14th Gen (Alder Lake, Raptor Lake, and Raptor Lake Refresh) CPUs, is currently the most significant hurdle for Hackintosh enthusiasts. While these processors offer incredible performance, the integrated graphics (iGPU) lack native support in macOS.
No Metal Acceleration
: Unlike older Intel iGPUs (like the UHD 630), Apple never released a Mac with the "Xe" graphics architecture found in the UHD 770. This means there is no hardware acceleration (Metal/QE/CI), which makes the macOS interface feel laggy, choppy, and practically unusable for daily tasks.
Add a Dedicated GPU (dGPU)
: You will need a compatible AMD graphics card. The best options currently supported up to macOS Sequoia include:
You must disable the E-cores
in BIOS or via CPU topology kexts for stable macOS. Many users run with E-cores disabled entirely.
