Computer Configuration (Windows):
The XP-420B can be configured for wireless use either through a PC tool for network settings or directly via mobile applications for easier access.
Connection:
Connect the printer to your computer using a USB cable and power it on. Setup Steps (Windows PC)
- Print a self-test/configuration page:

- The XP-420B Wi-Fi supports raw port 9100 printing — useful for POS systems.
- For multiple computers, install the printer on each using the same IP address.
- If you need mobile printing, try apps like PrintHand (may require additional setup).
- Install a compatible print utility app that supports Xprinter (e.g., Xprinter’s official app or a generic ESC/POS app).
- Put printer in AP mode (see Method A).
- In Android Wi‑Fi settings, connect to the printer’s AP SSID.
- In the app, choose network setup or printer settings → select your Wi‑Fi SSID → enter password → send settings.
- Reconnect your Android device to your normal Wi‑Fi network and confirm printer joined it (app or router list).
- Go to your computer’s "Devices and Printers" (Windows) or "Printers & Scanners" (Mac).
- If you had previously installed the driver via USB, right-click the printer, select Printer Properties, and look for the "Ports" tab.
- Click "Add Port", select Standard TCP/IP Port, and click New Port.
- Enter the IP address that was printed on the self-test page in Phase 5. Follow the wizard to finish.
- If this is a fresh installation, run the driver installer, choose "Network" connection when prompted, and let the wizard detect the printer automatically.
